Alpheus W. Jessup (Chip) – Principal Architect

Chip enjoys translating his client’s ideas and dreams into creative design that are both individualized and functional. His work experience includes resolving complex residential design challenges and management of commercial construction. His expertise ranges from small detail-oriented residential remodeling projects to new homes and commercial and corporate projects of all sizes in Palo Alto, Los Altos and throughout the Bay Area. Chip has worked extensively on Eichler homes in Palo Alto, Los Altos, San Jose and other local areas.

Chip received his architectural training at Stanford University where he also studied History and English. He graduated in 1970 and received his Architectural license in 1981.

In his leisure time, Chip reads, coaches soccer, runs and works out. He, his wife and children have lived in Palo Alto, California, for more than 20 years.

Malika Z. Junaid – Principal Designer

Malika has traveled throughout Europe and Asia to study different cultures and architectural styles. She worked in an architectural office in Asia for several years before returning to the United States. Malika’s international architectural experience, combined with her artistic creativity and graphic design background allow her to provide a unique perspective to the team. Malika has a modern approach to architectural design which has resulted in unique projects throughout the Bay Area. Malika’s work was recently featured in the San Jose Mercury News, the metropolitan daily of Silicon Valley.

Afsheen Ahmad - Designer

After graduating from Louisiana State University, Afsheen joined a large multinational architecture and design company and worked on several major commercial and public-sector projects. Later she left the multinational to found her own architectural consulting firm in her native Pakistan, where she successfully completed several residential projects before relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area. Afsheen takes inspiration from nature and environment in her design, and her style is a functional blend of traditional and modern elements. While at M Designs Architects, she has worked on several remodeling and renovation projects throughout the Bay Area.

Junaid Qurashi – Director / Chief Operating Officer

Junaid comes from a business and technology backgroup. Junaid has worked in many Bay Area hi-tech companies like VMware, Palo Alto, Wyse Technologies, San Jose and AT labs, Sunnyvale. Additionally, he has also co-founded many companies where he has been involved in fund raising, budget and planning, product management and strategic business development. In M. Designs Architects, Junaid handles day-to-day operations, business development, marketing and company finances.

Junaid received his MBA from Santa Clara University in California in 2003 after completing his BS in Computer Engineering from CalPoly, San Luis Obispo, California in 1994.

In his leisure time, Junaid enjoys fencing, wind surfing, table tennis and swimming. He lives in Los Altos, California with his wife and daughter.
